COhatch’s Riverview Village reimagines Historic Dublin as a new landing space and entrepreneurial ecosystem for Central Ohio. This public-private Riverview Village partnership will transform 2.85 acres of western riverfront by connecting Bridge Park (East) with Historic Dublin (West) and increasing business activity and foot traffic across both sides of the river.
Completing Dublin’s Riverfront Vision
Over the years, the City of Dublin has thoughtfully expanded development on the east side of the Scioto River with the creation of Bridge Park, while preserving the character and charm that make Historic Dublin unique. With its landmark homes and rich history, Historic Dublin has long been valued for its authenticity and charm. In 2021, the City took an important next step by partnering with COhatch, a coworking company with 40 locations nationwide, to create Riverview Village as a walkable entrepreneurial and coworking hub that also serves as COhatch’s national headquarters—bringing new energy to Historic Dublin while honoring its past.
COhatch’s Riverview Village unites Dublin’s growing riverfront development vision, offering an example of the good that comes from public-private partnerships and driving economic activity throughout the district. “COhatch is a valued business partner within Historic Dublin,” says Jeremiah Gracia, Dublin’s Director of Economic Development. “We are thrilled to work with them on this project that will have a long-lasting impact on our community.”
Entrepreneur Hub Driving Traffic to Historic Dublin
COHatch’s Riverside Project will include:
- 14,250-square-foot COhatch headquarters and coworking spaces
- Four restored historic homes for offices and events
- Restaurants, pop-up venues and space for a weekend market with outdoor kiosks
- Connection between The Dublin Link pedestrian bridge, Bridge Park and Riverside Crossing Park
- An infusion of entrepreneurs and small businesses to boost economic activity in the city
Beyond physical infrastructure, the COhatch development will create networking opportunities through its regular events, workshops and collaborative programming. COhatch’s proven model of building entrepreneurial communities means Riverview Village will draw visitors from across Central Ohio by hosting pitch competitions, educational sessions and industry meetups. This programming transforms the site from a working location into a dynamic destination that activates Historic Dublin throughout the week.
The development concentrates small businesses, startups and freelancers on Historic Dublin’s west side. Coworking members will work, live and ultimately spend their hard-earned dollars at Historic Dublin restaurants and shops. As more shoppers, walkers and diners circulate throughout the district, visitors will be drawn from Bridge Park across the river to experience existing Historic Dublin businesses and restaurants.
Public Investment Meets Private Development
The partnership strategically combines public and private resources. Dublin provides the land, infrastructure and incentives. COhatch provides the development, operations and programming.
“Dublin is very strategic and forward-thinking,” explains Matt Davis, COhatch CEO. “Together, we have created a destination for businesses to locate in Riverview Village, available for even the smallest companies to stimulate incubation and innovation.”
Riverview Village will also connect historic Dublin to Dublink, Dublin’s 100-gig fiber network, and provide businesses based there with cutting-edge wireless connectivity. The City structured incentives passed on to member companies, making the location attractive to startups and entrepreneurs.
Preserving Historic Character
The project balances Historic Dublin’s past with its entrepreneurial future, with COhatch restoring four historic homes while integrating new construction to complement the area’s character.
“Restoring the historic houses and maintaining the charm of Historic Dublin is critical in our design,” says Joel Limes, COhatch Co-Chief Brand Officer. “There is something special about creating an integrated experience of structures, some new and some old, that will inspire and connect the public for many years to come.”
Today, both sides of Dublin’s riverfront serve the community — Bridge Park on the east with its modern amenities, and Historic Dublin on the west with its heritage and entrepreneurial energy— connected by The Dublin Link bridge.
