For athletic trainers and physical therapists, the old approach to caring for young athletes and their injuries largely consisted of a pen and paper. Relying on existing hospital electronic health record systems means trainers waste time and resources logging every athlete with even the most minor of injuries, and aren’t able to access critical information to perform their jobs in real time.
Healthy Roster, founded in 2015, exists to give athletic trainers and physical therapists a mobile way to assist athletes and even communicate with their parents about injuries.
The platform is customized for the type of work each employee does, says Healthy Roster CEO Nathan Heerdt, and allows them to communicate with hospital electronic health record systems like Epic and AthenaHealth.
