Dublin City Council is recognizing Cardinal Health with a proclamation in honor of the company’s 50th anniversary. Founded in 1971, Cardinal Health is headquartered in Dublin and is Ohio’s largest publicly traded company.
Not only is Cardinal Health the city’s top employer, it has played a significant role in elevating Dublin’s global reputation, particularly in the health care sector. The company employs nearly 50,000 people worldwide and serves more than 29,000 pharmacies and more than 10,000 specialty physician offices and clinics in the U.S.
Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes, on behalf of Dublin City Council, issued a proclamation at the April 12, 2021, City Council meeting, acknowledging Cardinal Health as an outstanding corporate citizen. The proclamation congratulated Founder Robert D. Walter, CEO Mike Kaufmann and the employees of Cardinal Health on the company’s 50th anniversary.
“We appreciate your recognizing Cardinal Health as the company celebrates its history of service to health care, to its associates and to the communities where it operates,” said Robert Walter, Cardinal Health Founder. “This has been a 50 year journey of growth.”
“We have all grown up and thrived together – our family, our company and the City of Dublin. What a wonderful place to raise a family and a business. We have enjoyed and benefited from the spirit of growth and partnership that Dublin fosters,” Walter said.
