(Dublin, OH) Dublin City Council has approved an economic development agreement with COhatch, a new kind of shared work, social, and family space built on community, to locate the company’s headquarters and support development of its Riverview Village project.
Along with headquarters for COhatch, Riverview Village will transform a stretch of North Riverview Street into a coworking and entrepreneurship village with public amenities including restaurants, bars and event space. The project would help activate a vacant, wooded area near the river and connect it with the rest of Historic Dublin, as well as the Link Pedestrian Bridge, Bridge Park and the proposed Riverside Crossing Park. It features a mix of new construction and redevelopment of historic buildings.
“COhatch has been a long-time, valued business partner within Historic Dublin. We are thrilled to work with them on this project that will have a long-lasting impact on our community for residents, visitors and business associates,” says Director of Economic Development Jeremiah Gracia. “This project will create a new business hub in Historic Dublin, fostering job creation and contributing to the City’s long-term growth and prosperity.”
The agreement provides a 20% performance income tax incentive for 2027 through 2033, based on net payroll withholdings received by the City. The agreement also includes separate annual grant payments to COhatch based on private investment activities of at least $8 million.
All incentive payments are designed to encourage COhatch’s private investments, create new jobs and employment opportunities and create a first-of-a-kind coworking and entrepreneurial village. COhatch must also maintain operations of its headquarters at Riverview Village for at least 10 years from which the first grant payment is paid. Failure to do so requires repayment of all incentive payments paid by the City.
Council approved the EDA after a second reading at its meeting Nov. 18, 2024.
