Dublin, OH – There was more than just world-class PGA golf at Muirfield Village Golf Club last week during the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide. City of Dublin Chief Information Officer Doug McCollough gave a special presentation on regional 100 gigabit broadband initiatives, connected vehicles research and Intelligent Communities to Greater Columbus CIOs, IT, tech and healthcare industries leaders, community leaders and regional partners.
McCollough explained how Dublin is leveraging its Dublink100 gig broadband fiber to attract businesses into Dublin’s Metro Place legacy office parks.
“From what our partners and other industry experts tell us, no other City in the country is subsidizing broadband for business use as an economic development tool,” said McCollough.
McCollough also highlighted the work being done with partners at The Ohio State University and the Transportation Research Center.
Dublin and Columbus, Ohio are on the forefront of autonomous and connected vehicle research and implementation exemplified by Columbus being one of only seven finalists for the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) Smart Cities Challenge.
