The City of Dublin received a Workforce & Talent Award from the Mid-America Economic Development Council (EDC). The Workforce & Talent award recognizes an activity or innovative program that attracts new talent to the area, strengthens the skills of the existing workforce and/or encourages retention of new talent in the area.
The City was honored for the Chatstrike Hiring Event held in July that supported recruiting efforts for Dublin-based businesses in the medical and bioscience industries. The event featured a virtual job lobby where those interested in working in Dublin could conveniently chat with job recruiters at participating companies.
More than 250 job candidates participated in the event. A second event, Dublin Talent Connect, was offered for industries across Dublin with more than 1,000 job seekers participating. Future events are planned for 2023.
“The Chatstrike platform offers an easy-to-use, manageable tool for recruiters, and the online components make it convenient for job seekers looking for a new role,” says City of Dublin Director of Economic Development Jennifer Klus. “The response from both our business partners and potential employees has been incredible, and I’m thrilled we found a meaningful way to support both sides of the recruiting process.”
For many years, Mid-America EDC has sponsored the annual Economic Development Awards competition to recognize and stimulate the creative use of quality marketing by economic development organizations throughout the 13-state Mid-America region in promoting their respective communities. The awards were presented at the organization’s Mid-America Competitiveness Conference.
More than 4,300 businesses operate within Dublin and the City’s diversified corporate base includes Fortune 1000 headquarters, start-ups, emerging tech companies, higher education and international businesses. The City was named “Best Suburb for Business” for the 12th consecutive year by Columbus CEO magazine.
